being boring
My friend Michelle likes to have this discussion about what we will be like as future girlfriends/wives- and she ALWAYS says I am stable but boring (as opposed to fun but unstable). I don't know which end of the spectrum is preferable, but I was doing some thinking and I had to agree with her...
I realised I am INCREDIBLY boring person.
I can stand repetition of things, eg:
1. Eat ais kacang back-to-back for a stretch of 3 weeks- so much so that my mum just had to hand in the container to the ais kacang lady and it was understood. (Yes my mum is incredibly obliging.)
2. Eat oats with banana EVERYDAY for breakfast, with few breaks in between. Same went for Koko Krunch with milk until I decided enough was enough after a spate of a few months.
3. I used to eat fish and chips EVERY Sunday without fail- hence the chubby kid I was. (I REFUSE to let anyone see ANY pictures of me when I was 11-12 ish- let's just say I was sadly disillusioned about my not being fat.)
4. I can listen to Brooke Fraser over and over again and NOT get sick of it. (When I mean over and over again, it really IS over and over again.)
5. I can wear the same old thing again and again (i.e. the same dress for more than 3 days) until someone points it out.
6. Cook something in bulk and eat the same dish for the next 8 days- I am absolutely fine with that. (But I haven't had much opportunity to eat 8 days at home in a row as I usually will go out for a meal sometime.)
I KNOW for a fact that there are more examples than this but this is for now.
I don't watch any particular series to keep me entertained- and my idea of fun is doing just NOTHING.
I love monotony! Or being a slob.
I was just thinking- I realised I don't even necessarily have a lot to say to the people I am closest to- so don't worry if I shut up in front of you if I had nothing to say- it means I am sufficiently comfortable with you for me to do so.
As it is, I am boring. And I think that's fine, if you are fine with it

Yeah, Fish and Chips also, that uncle and aunty must have loved you..
Hmm..just a thought - you also liked to eat the char koay teow in Kam Wan
Hmm..I have yet to think of another boring thing that you do, but I don't know how you stand eating the same thing for 8 days! But oh well, when I have to cook I'll probably do the same.
Does spending hours in the toilet count as being boring?
